BURN BAN IN EFFECT  (as of 9/10/19)

Due to continuing dangerous fire conditions, a county wide burn ban was placed into effect 9/10/19 for 90 days by the Scurry County Commissioners Court.  Outdoor burning is prohibited except as expressly permitted by the resolution.

The Snyder Fire Department has been proudly serving Snyder and Scurry County for over 100 years.  The Department was organized April 15, 1911 as a combination (Paid & Volunteer) department.

Today, the City of Snyder Municipal Fire Department consists of 11 full-time career firefighters.  The Department works hand-in-hand with the Snyder Volunteer Fire Department Inc., a non-profit organization of approximately 35 men and women, most of whom are certified fire fighters.

The Department responds to an average of 456 fire and rescue calls each year.
