The Snyder Fire Department is the only 24 hour department in the service area.
One central station at 1911 27th street in Snyder is staffed 24/7/365 by paid career firefighters, and is the main point of dispatch and response. Both paid and volunteer fire personnel staff apparatus for fires.
The Snyder Fire Department offers and receives mutual aid from surrounding counties on large fires. On average, the department provides mutual aid 3 times more often than it receives it, but works as needed with area departments to suppress fires in Scurry and adjacent counties.
